Why I Love This Recipe

I found this recipe on the Family Fun magazine website.

This is my daughters' favorite summertime slushy recipe. She's already began to request it for this year.

I found if the slushy was too thick, adding water or fruit juice while blending helps.

Keep some canned fruit in your freezer and you can whip up this refreshing and fruity slush in a snap.

Ingredients You'll Need

2 cans of fruit packed in heavy syrup (peaches and pineapple work especially well)

Directions

Seal the canned fruit in a zip-lock bag and place (juice & all) the bag in the freezer.

When ready to use, submerge the bag in a bowl of hot tap water until the fruit is slightly thawed (about a minute).

Pour the syrup into a food processor and slide the frozen fruit onto a cutting board. Chop the fruit into small chunks and put them in the food processor. Blend the fruit and syrup until smooth, from 30 seconds to 2 1/2 minutes, depending on the type of fruit. Serve immediately. Makes 4 half-cup servings.
