Ingredients You'll Need
1 kg all purpose flour
2 eggs, 400 gr yogurt (kiselo mlyako)
1 tea spoon baking soda
500 gr white bulgarian cheese (can be substituted with feta cheese or tofu if you are lactose intolerant)
2 table spoons of chubritsa (also known as Summer savory outside of Bulgaria)
2 table spoons of sunflower oil
salt (depends on how salty is the cheese)
Directions
First sift the flour into a large bowl, make a well in the middle and put the eggs, half the yoghurt and the grated cheese inside. Add the oil, salt and savory on top. Put the soda in the remaining yoghurt and put 2-3 drops of vinegar on it, stir and leave for 2-3 minutes to foam and add to the well. Allow the oven to heat to 180 degrees. During this time, knead everything until it stops sticking to your fingers. If necessary, a little more flour can be added. From the dough, make balls the size of a fist and arrange them in a large tray 3-4 fingers apart. The pan can be greased or with baking paper. Bake the chubrenki for about 30 minutes or until golden.
